Seapilot2Star Offshore Racing Welcomes two FAREAST 28R

May.2017

On 29 May, Seapilot2Star starts in Sweden. It is a 300nm offshore, double handed race (only 2 persons onboard), with 2 pitstops included. It is perhaps Sweden's toughest and funniest double-handed sailing race. Over 100 boats participated in this edition. The first start is on Monday 29 May at 08.00 in Oxelösund harbor, and the finish is scheduled to take place between Wednesday and Thursday the same week, even in Oxelösund. In between, there are pitstops in Visby and Oskarshamn.

It is so proud that present the former alpine ski racer Pernilla Wiberg took part in the regatta this year. She sailed a FAREAST 28R together with Volvo Ocean racing giant Anders Lewander. Pernilla Wiberg has grown up with sailing and has often sailed in the area from Oxelösund down towards Oskarshamn. Another FAREAST 28R was raced by Far East International Sales and Marketing director, Mats Runström and his friend Christopher Bruge.

During the 48 hours of racing, there were like 3 hours of downwind. However they had a lot of upwind in up to 30 knots, so they have really tried the boat. Sailing around the clock, gives them a very nice freedom feeling, especially during night.
