The first day of FAREAST 28R World Championship Starts with Crazy Fun

On August 10th, the first racing day of 2017 FAREAST 28R World Championship starts. The wind is 8 to 12 knots and the weather is sunny. 22 international teams set sail in 11:00.

After three intense rounds, Team Drake from Sweden ranked first, Team Take Care 2 from Netherlands was second and Team China Girl from Sweden was third. Two teams from China have gradually improved team working and aims to get better scores in the following days.

At the same evening, FAREAST 28R World Championship GALA DINNER which sponsored by Malmö City and Malmö Segel Sällskap (MSS), was held in Malmö City Hall. The City Hall was built in 1564 and is an important piece of Malmö history. It’s a great honor to hold GALA DINNER of the inaugural FAREAST 28R World Championship in this famous build and showed the recognition and support from Malmö City.

Kent Andersson, Mayor of Malmö City and Mikael Stamming, Head of Regional development Region Skåne and Demolar Du, President of the FAREAST 28R International Class Association attend the dinner and gave welcome speech to all guests. Besides, Mrs. Demolar Du was honored as a member of MSS, the first female member from  Asia since the club was founded in 1876.
