2026 VPS Cup Fareast 19R Open & International Regatta Concludes Successfully in Nha Trang, Vietnam
Held from July 17 to 19, 2026, the 2026 VPS Cup Fareast 19R Open & International Regatta took place successfully in Nha Trang Bay, Vietnam. As a flagship sporting event of the 2026 Khanh Hoa Sea Festival, the regatta was jointly hosted by the Khanh Hoa Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Seanata Sailing Yacht and Technical Services Company. It marks the first international keelboat regatta ever held in Vietnam.
The competition gathered nine professional teams from six countries and regions, including Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Chinese Taipei and Vietnam. Adopting the one-design rule with the official Fareast 19R as the exclusive competition boat, the event eliminated equipment disparities and ensured absolute fairness. Final results were purely determined by sailors’ skills, tactics and teamwork, delivering a highly professional and impartial competition.
Racing courses were set across the waters from central Nha Trang toward Hon Tre Island. Stable breeze of 8–12 knots every afternoon created excellent racing conditions, allowing the full race schedule to be completed smoothly. After three days of intense competition, the podium was secured by international elite teams: Shinmoji Marina Yacht Club from Japan claimed the championship, Team Knotty Kids from Singapore took second place, and Moana Sailing from South Korea finished third.
Numerous international sailors spoke highly of the overall performance of the Fareast 19R during the event. As a new-generation model in the Fareast product lineup, the Fareast 19R inherits the outstanding racing genes of the classic Fareast 28R and 23R. Featuring a compact hull design, it delivers impressive speed and excellent maneuverability, perfectly suited for international coastal regattas.
With over two decades of dedication to sailing equipment manufacturing, Fareast has long empowered the development of global sailing sports with professional and reliable products. From remarkable achievements at the 2005 OP World Championship, the Fareast 28R breaking Western market dominance in 2015, and being designated as the official boat for the 2025 WMRT Finals, to the widespread popularity of the Fareast 19R across Southeast Asia today, the brand consistently upholds its original aspiration. Fareast continues to drive the popularization and upgrading of sailing sports worldwide with solid product strength and professional industry expertise.
