The SV14 is an adaptive keel boat designed by Simonis Voogd, built by FAREAST and supported worldwide.
Stable without feeling sedate, responsive yet easy to handle, the SV14 integrates its supportive seating, adaptable control systems and hull design into one complete platform. Configurable around different physical abilities, it opens up training, recreational sailing and racing to more people.

Stable Without Losing the Thrill
With a beam of 1.59 metres, a 1.20-metre lifting T-keel and a twin-rudder system, the SV14 provides reassuring stability while remaining light and direct at the helm.
Its low centre of gravity and twin-rudder arrangement help maintain reliable steering control as the boat heels, allowing sailors to feel the changing relationship between the wind, sails and hull with greater confidence.
Flexible by Design
The standard SV14 is equipped with two purpose-designed GRP bucket seats, one for the helm and one for the crew. Quick-release mountings make the seats easier to adjust, remove, transport and maintain.
Depending on the sailor’s physical requirements, an optional powered tilting mechanism can be added. The system includes an aluminium frame, mounting brackets and a 24V electric actuator, allowing sailors with reduced mobility to adjust the angle of the seat. Batteries are supplied separately.
Lightweight Composite Construction
The hull and deck of the SV14 use PVC foam sandwich construction, with E-glass as the primary reinforcement and isophthalic resin throughout the laminate. Vacuum infusion helps produce a consistent composite structure, balancing low weight with strength, stiffness and long-term durability. Selective carbon reinforcement is added to the keel fin and rudder blades to increase stiffness in key load-bearing areas.
Six independent flotation compartments are integrated into the hull, providing additional reserve buoyancy on the water.
A Simple Sail Plan with Room to Progress
The standard sail wardrobe includes a white Dacron mainsail with one reef and a Dacron jib with a visibility window.
For greater downwind performance, the SV14 can be upgraded with a nylon asymmetric spinnaker, together with the corresponding deck equipment and control lines. Racing mainsail, jib and asymmetric spinnaker packages are also available, allowing sailors to progress from training and recreational sailing to a more competitive setup.

The SV14 is well suited to two-person training, standardized fleet racing and inclusive sailing events. World Sailing lists the SV14 among the classes supporting Para Inclusive Sailing and among the boats and adaptations designed for Para sailors. On a consistent boat platform, sailors can focus on communication, teamwork, course strategy, sail trim and boat handling. Racing becomes a test of sailing ability, tactical judgement and collaboration rather than physical power alone.
